Keep your TV service when you switch internet providers
DISH arrives by satellite, not over Cox, ALLO, or Google Fiber. If you change internet companies — or a new fiber provider finally reaches your street — your television service is unaffected, and you are never obligated to take an ISP’s TV bundle to keep the channels you watch.
When satellite makes sense at your address
Where ALLO or Google Fiber has already reached the house, fiber is usually the faster connection and we will say so. Satellite still earns its place when:
- Your address is not on the fiber map yet — acreage, new construction, or a county road
- You want television that does not depend on your internet provider, so you keep DISH if you switch Cox, ALLO, or Google Fiber
- You would rather not bundle TV with a fiber or cable account
- Trees, easements, or a long wait for a drop stand between you and wired service
- You want one local company handling both the dish and the internet question
The Hopper DVR
The Hopper is the DVR most customers have in mind. It skips commercials on compatible recordings, displays more than one live program at a time, and records several shows simultaneously. Whether it suits your setup depends on how many televisions you run and where they are, which takes about five minutes to work out on the phone.
Professional installation at your home
Standard professional installation is often included with a qualifying new DISH order. A steep roof, heavy tree cover, additional rooms, or a non-standard mount can change the scope of the work. We will tell you before we schedule a technician, not after.
Many DISH offers run on a two-year agreement and require credit qualification and autopay, and early-termination terms may apply. We will walk you through the specific terms attached to whatever is available today.
